As an NPO AWARD’s funding is derived from 3 primary sources: donors; interest on investments; and sales of products and services.
What is an NGO / NPO?
AWARD is a section 21 company which means that it is registered as a Non-Profit Organisation with the Companies Registrar at the Department of Trade and Industries. Unlike other NPO’s such as Trusts and Voluntary Associations, Section 21 companies are considered to possess a legal persona.
Section 21 companies may be established for the promotion of religion, the arts, sciences, education, charity, recreation, any other cultural or social activity, or communal interests.
Once registered as a section 21 company with the NPO directorate. Once this step has been taken, the NPO may source funding from donors within the international community.
